If any of your toys are made from what looks to be a jelly-like substance or have the same smell as your newly purchased shower curtain, there is a very high possibility that they have been made with phthalates. These chemical compounds are used to soften the plastic, making it more flexible, which would seem to be perfect for such an intimate item.

The best sex lasts 3 to 13 minutes- April 02, 2008
NEW YORK — A survey of sex therapists concluded that the optimal amount of time for sexual intercourse was 3 to 13 minutes.
The findings, to be published in the May issue of the Journal of Sexual Medicine, strike at the notion that endurance is the key to a great sex life.
If that sounds like good news to you, don't cheer too loudly. The time does not count foreplay, and the therapists did rate sexual intercourse that lasts from 1 to 2 minutes as "too short."

Sex may have sunk BC ferry - February 08, 2007
TORONTO - The federal Transportation Safety Board says it looked into whether sex was taking place on the bridge of the B.C. ferry Queen of the North when it sank last year.
A board spokesman told a Toronto newspaper that scenario was part of its investigation. Ferries spokesperson acknowledges there has been speculation about sex playing a role in the sinking, but wouldn't comment further. A draft report on the sinking -- in which two of the 101 passengers are missing and presumed dead -- is to be delivered to the board within days. The draft report goes next to interested parties for comment and a final report is expected in three to six months.
